In this interactive session, we will explore how you, as HR Leaders, can use high-stakes moments to build trust and accelerate your influence.  This means helping your team (and yourselves) to discover and close the gaps between who you think you are, and who you actually are. Ultimately, this is a mindset journey in which you and your team make the shift from "winning and being right" to "learning before deciding."  Doing so, in my experience, is the difference between "being managed" by your clients and having a seat at the table.

Robert Johnson, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist and organizational consultant who focuses primarily on optimizing leadership team dynamics.  He partners with senior and emerging organizational leaders alike, supporting their capacity to develop teams and align their group efforts towards critical organizational objectives. Working across a variety of business sectors, Dr. Johnson applies his psychological expertise to enhance client self-awareness, to collaboratively chart a course towards valued outcomes, and to support and challenge executives in their pursuit of personal and team excellence.

We are in the middle of an urgency epidemic where time is our most precious resource, and everything is urgent all of the time.  As leaders, it is our responsibility to manage urgency with our teams in order to promote focus and avoid burnout.  Join Brandon as he helps you to become a master of urgency.  In this session, Brandon will not only discuss how to properly create urgency in others, but also, you’ll learn the tactics and techniques to redirect others when they are attempting to make everything in your world urgent.  In addition to best practices of leadership communication, you will hear Brandon’s three truth’s about building trust, which if consistently followed, help you drive change, create alignment and empower others.

Brandon Smith is a leading expert in leadership communication and curer of workplace dysfunction. Known as “The Workplace Therapist,” Brandon is a sought-after executive coach, TEDx speaker, author and award- winning business school instructor. He has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, CNN, Fox News.com, NPR, Forbes and many others for his expertise. His book The Hot Sauce Principle: How to Live and Lead in a World Where Everything Is Urgent All of the Time helps readers to master urgency so they can more effectively lead others, manage others’ unrealistic expectations, and prevent burnout at home.

Join Emily Sheeren, Principal at ghSMART, in an interactive session designed to help you and your leadership team to operate at its full potential.  Unfortunately, more than 90% of leaders, teams and organizations are running well below their full potential. This costs you significantly in terms of your financial success, management time, and career enjoyment.  Imagine if you knew a way to lead others successfully. Imagine the satisfaction of having the right people working on the right tasks at the right times to deliver the right results. Imagine the impact to your business.

Introducing Full PWR leadership. Great leaders know they must accomplish three things: set the right priorities, pair those priorities with the right people (“who”) and create an environment where relationships can work. Two decades of research and consulting, deep analysis of over 21,000 leaders, and field interviews with hundreds of billionaires, CEOs, and successful investors all tell us that full powered leaders are about 5x more successful than the average leader. Full PWR leadership applies to leaders, teams, or an entire organization.

Trends in labor law in any given year might affect our HR strategies and approaches.  But specially this year with a new government in Washington and COVID still affecting our workplace, it is important for all of us to be aware of that is on the horizon.  Join us for an interactive session with Sara Longtain, Partner at Locke Lord, to get insights in labor legislation trends for 2021 and beyond.  Sara will update us on what is known, expected and possible in this area.  If you have specific questions about upcoming legislation, please send your question to Hang Bower, so Sara can tailor her session to your needs.

The 2020 Roundtable on "Benchmarking" was highly successful.  Through live polling, we got instant feedback around critical topics (at the time, COVID response and work flexibility) and we had very engaged follow up discussions.  We want to repeat this session as many members told us this format is beneficial.  Who knows what the critical topics are in April, but for this session we promise you, we will ask timely and relevant polling questions and give our members the opportunity to interact and benchmark their decisions, processes, initiatives etc.

As Talent leaders we have developed and implemented succession management programs and if successfully, improved our succession metrics.  What are strategies that have been successful for you?  How did you succeed in really involving senior management?  How did you make this more than just once a year a paper exercise?  How did you make sure actions were implemented and follow up was in place?  What tools did you use, and do you have an integrated system linked to other HR programs?  What metrics did you use and how frequent did you communicate?  What trends do you see emerging in this space?  In the tradition of transparency and a safe place to share our ideas, we will not only focus on what worked but also what are some of the lessons you learned along the way?

"Executive Compensation Trends and 2022 Budget Matters"

Virtual Zoom Meeting

Join us for this Roundtable session with Josh Henke, Senior Director in Alvarez & Marsal’s Compensation & Benefits Practice.  Josh will discuss trends he and his organization are perceiving in the area of executive compensation.  This is a timely session as most of us will be deeply into budget work for our 2022 work year.  We will collect questions related to Executive Compensation but other topics in the area of incentive plan design and broad-based employee compensation structures that could be addressed if applicable to our members.  Josh brings more than 15 years in executive and general employee compensation and HR experience and has a broad, international perspective.
