"Grit” Paul Voss, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Georgia State University
Join Paul Voss in this thought-provoking but very practical and applicable session. The great artist Michelangelo demonstrated an impressive capacity to transform, to pivot, and to adapt as he evolved from sculptor, to painter, to architect. Almost 500 years later, Google experienced the same imperative to adapt and to transform from a search engine to a larger portfolio of offerings. What traits link these two, seemingly remote, examples? Both Michelangelo and Google needed to have intelligence, leadership, humility, and grit in order to accomplish their respective goals. This talk examines how business cultures can identify and enhance those crucial characteristics.
